About the Field Office

The Field Office is about living everyday life with a spirit of curiosity and creativity, whether that is near or far from home. In my own life, I’ve practiced placing experiences over routine, which has lead me to a life as an expat in Berlin for many  years and to pursue a career as a professional artist.

I am an enthusiastic storyteller about places, people, and experiences with a thoughtful approach. If this message resonates with you or your brand, I’d love to hear from you and talk about how we could collaborate!

Photography & Video

Photo and video commissions are powerful tools for communicating your story. I also license the photos on this website and Instagram. Please be in touch to inquire about either of these options!

Social Collaborations

I am currently accepting social partnerships on a limited basis. This includes working with you to develop an authentic package of photos, videos, writing, or drawing for use across social media platforms. Partnering with the Field Office to promote your destination, brand, or business is an effective way to showcase what makes your business or organization unique.
Previous partnerships include: Context Travel’s Berlin Walking ToursHotel Concorde Berlin

Illustration & Lettering

Travel maps, original lettering, and spot graphics all add a handmade touch to travel-related content. As an artist and illustrator, I always have a sketchbook with me and am thrilled to work on original illustrations for new projects. Select illustrations and patterns are available for licensing. Writing & Consulting

I am a regular author for Gestalten, the Berlin-based publisher of all things visual culture. Some other past clients include the Instagram blogUppercase Magazine and Sister Magazine.

About Me

Hi, I’m Rebecca. This blog is where I share real stories about travel, inspiration, and living a creative life based on my own experiences as an expat, traveler, and artist.

You can read more about me on my website rebeccasilus.com

After almost 10 years away, I came back to a city that is so different, I often don’t recognize it. But this place hasn’t changed a bit.⚡️
